Meet Ike McCorkle

IKE MCCORKLE IS FIGHTING FOR COLORADO'S FUTURE

Ike McCorkle, a battle-hardened Force Recon Marine and devoted father of four, carries a legacy steeped in service and patriotism. With a long family history of lives dedicated to the ideals of duty, honor, and sacrifice, Ike’s story is one of unwavering commitment to country and family.

His drive to serve has brought him to a new battlefield: running for Congress in Colorado’s 4th District. Ike’s campaign will fight to elect a representative with integrity, loyalty, and true patriotism to restore dignity to our Congressional office.

Service, integrity, and honor are a family tradition

Ike is the grandson of a West Point Officer and WWII veteran, the grandson of a Jewish Army Air Corps Pilot and WWII veteran, the son of an Army Nurse Major, the brother of an Army Captain, the cousin of an Army Captain and cousin of an Army Sergeant First Class. Ike is also the cousin of a reservist serving in the Israeli Defense Forces. Service is not just part of his experience; it’s part of his heritage.

When Ike was two years old, his parents divorced, his mother raising her children in rural communities. They lived in a trailer and depended on food stamps, government cheese, and free meals at school while Mom attended nursing school in hopes of providing a better life for her kids.

Ike’s mom commissioned in the Air Force and later the Army, where she served her country as a Major.  After himself enlisting in the United States Marine Corps at 17, Ike returned home to get his education. But when the 9/11 attacks rocked our country, he once again raised his right hand and bought a ticket straight to the front lines.

During his eighteen years in the Corps, he attained the rank of Gunnery Sergeant, graduated from CU Boulder, was commissioned in 2009, and medically retired as a Captain in 2014. Ike deployed with the Marines six times, completing four combat tours. Like many infantrymen in combat, Ike was wounded on multiple occasions. He was awarded the Purple Heart and the Navy & Marine Achievement medal with Combat Valor decoration.

protecting and supporting our families

Ike retired from the Marines in 2014 to be present in his kids’ lives and to recover from eighteen hard years of service. He is the dedicated father of four beautiful children: Isaac Jr., Danny, Allen, and Miles.

In 2019, Ike went through the modern nightmare we’ve come to know too well as parents in America: an active shooter in Isaac Jr.’s school. Junior was not physically harmed, but the mental trauma is impossible to escape. Like the PTSD so many veterans suffer after service, our kids are enduring irreversible shock and stress.

Ike believes we can uphold our Second Amendment in harmony with common-sense gun laws that can prevent our children from having to endure these traumas. He’s advocating for a National Safe Storage Act as a signature piece of legislation, ensuring that firearms are stored safely away from youth – and with less access, the means to carry out school shootings is reduced.

Given his upbringing, Ike also understands what it is like to live in poverty and to need the help of community. He understands the role of education and hard work in improving people’s quality of life.

Ike believes in an America that lifts its citizens up so that all of society benefits together, through a strong social safety net, the best educational opportunities in the world, and advancing the social pact of public service.

Defending and strengthening our democracy

Ike McCorkle is running in Colorado’s 4th Congressional District to replace incumbent Ken Buck and defeat extremist Lauren Boebert.

Coloradans and all Americans deserve representation that serves the people, not just the elite. Ike believes that Colorado’s 4th deserves ethical representation that will fight for the working class. We will answer the call to service, bringing integrity and the voice of the people back to this Congressional office. We will fight to get big money out of politics and create the America we are advertised to be a representative Democracy, for ALL our people, not just those who can afford to buy politicians.

Ike considers himself a post-partisan, populist FDR-type Democrat, who believes most Americans agree on a majority of the issues. It’s time to stop letting those issues sit on the backburner while we bicker about Team Red and Team Blue. We have too much work to do and need representatives that will work across the aisle to find real, practical solutions to our challenges.

Advancing conservation & family farmers

Ike believes the nation’s elected leaders must acknowledge the extent of the environmental crisis we face, and the threat it poses to our national security. We must prepare the nation for what lies ahead. America must lead, not deny this looming crisis.

As a Coloradoan, Ike knows that as we transition away from fossil fuels to protect our nation from the climate threat, we must create jobs and training for Coloradans in infrastructure and the emerging green energy economy. With the recent discovery of rare-earth minerals in nearby states, we have an opportunity to lead in this new economy and bring green manufacturing to our district.

Family farmers, cattlemen and our agricultural workers also deserve our support – from the right to repair, to standing with family farms against corporate greed, Ike will fight for our rural communities.

It's time to restore dignity to our congressional office

With a military career and natural curiosity, Ike has traveled the world – visiting all the continents but Antarctica. He has seen combat zones, historic cities, and diverse cultures. The world contains both allies and enemies, and both require our attention. A student of history and keen observer, Ike developed a passionate commitment to the Constitution and individual civil liberty. Ike believes that protection of the right of all people to have home and family in safety and peace is a primary task of government.

As a child raised in a family that values military service and high standards of character and performance and as a man who has given his life to service for his country, Ike feels that integrity must be the foundational quality of any organization.

Trust and confidence in government must be restored. Ike says what he means and means what he says. He will listen to Colorado’s citizens, will turn aside improper and immoral financial offers, and will fight for what is best for Colorado, America, and the world. Ike knows that with good leadership and solid planning, we can and will bring about a better future for America and our kids.

With your support, Ike McCorkle will serve Colorado’s 4th Congressional District with dignity and patriotism, as he has served his country. The days of special interests buying our governmental leadership must come to an end. We must save our Democracy to save our planet. America must provide justice, equity, and opportunity for all and give our children the hopeful future they deserve.
